I think it's arguable that I am still a pack rat though. My apartment is filled with stuff. I used to consider myself a pack rat. Anything and everything I kept whether it had meaning behind it or not. Then one day I was going through a box of crap and I realized I didn't even think about the stuff. I started to get rid of it and I haven't regretted it since. I don't consider myself a pack rat because I can throw things away if I take the time to look at them. So, I think I'm more lazy now than a pack rat. A pack rat saves onto things because he or she will probably use them. I just stash things into a box until I can get to it. Or, (I think i've mentioned this before) if it's a piece of mail or something with my name on it, I promptly stash it in a box labeled "Shred." ... I don't own a shredder...
Anyway, it all comes down to this. I was feeling restless this morning so instead of plopping on the couch for an afternoon full of non-stop knitting I decided to do laundry. I don't do laundry often, because every time I do laundry (and I mean every time) I end up going through all of my clothes. I can honestly say that this time, I did not find a single shirt that I said, 'Hey, I don't remember you." This is a very good thing. I did, however, find a lot of clothing that I will never wear again so I threw them in a huge bag and I plan on giving them to Goodwill. (Just a tip though, if you are going to give away clothing, separate clothing that is wearable read: no stains, holes, or dirty and pure trash. They don't sew up holes. They don't take out stains. They'll wash them, but give them a break. Don't make trash and give away clothes the same pile!) Now I have a clean closet and I itemized each piece of clothing.
The bad news is, I am screwed as far as shirts to wear to the new job. I went out and bought three pairs of dress pants (I had 0, I've been living in jeans for over a year...) and a cardi. I ordered online two dress shirts and two sweaters (I could have knit grumble grumble). Once that shipment comes in I should be okay, but I'm slightly holding my breath. I am a size 16 in shirts and I rarely find one that fits... Also... my pants are at the tailors until Thursday... Skirts it is!
P.S. Just a sneak peek of what will be listed. After an hour of messing with swift, meter, baller, and Josephine-y, I only have one ready skein of alpaca. Besides, I have a big surprise for everyone regarding the store, so I beg just wait a little longer!

I am a huge pack rat. Holding onto clothes is definitely my worst little quirk though. I just recently got rid of T-shirts I hadn't worn in 4+ years. I hope everything works out with the clothes fitting properly! =)
I'm with you on the pack rat/collector thing, except I'm obsessively organized about it. Anyway. If you were to ask me to quantify how much I love the yarn you recently dyed, I would be unable to place a reasonable amount on it. Suffice to say, I can't wait to get my hands on some of that yarn. I will probably reiterate this in an email to you after I get some knitting done. I AM going to sit my butt on the sofa for a few hours, at least, of non-stop knitting. :)
Yarn looks great and so happy you got organized! :) Tel Josie Lily (previously Elle) said bye... She's off to live at my Bil's. :)
I am a pack rat, but I have to have everything in order. I hate clutter, isn't it weird? And you can take as long as you want with etsy...because I'm still waiting for my funds to transfer over to paypal and I'm scared that everything will be gone before I get to buy any!
